Don Ober, the farrier, will shoe horses and discuss his trade.
1st Saturday Spinners will be beside the Keller House all day. Judy Mongold and Becky Driver will be knitting. Penny Hollabaugh, Debbie Forrest, Krista Wardecker, Ann Follansbee, Patty Abel, Kathy Gwyn and Sue Ober will be spinning on a variety of wheels. Weaving will also be demonstrated on the antique Hottel loom, located at the back of the Keller House.
Sue Ober will be making on her hand-cranked sewing machine.
Patty Abel will be in the Summer Kitchen, explaining 19th century food preparation.
Richard Stickles and his family will have draft horses, a yoke of oxen pulling a cart, heritage Hog Island sheep and German chickens in the Hottel meadow. His horses pull antique equipment to mow hay and ted the hay to expedite drying and to plow the ground. Throughout the day his horse-drawn wagon will be available for rides
Joyce Hamrick will talk about the ruins and Springhouse and the ruins of the Hottel house in the Hottel meadow. Mrs. Hamrick’s grandparents lived in the house many years before it burned.
